Search volume is the estimated number of searches a month in Ireland. Difficulty is Ahrefs' 0 to 100 estimate of how hard the top ten results are to break into. Cost per click is what advertisers pay, reported by Ahrefs in US dollars. All three are estimates from one tool on one date, not counts, and they move.

How to read your own row

Volume tells you the size of the prize, roughly. It is one term, not the whole trade: someone looking for a plumber also searches emergency plumber dublin, plumber near me and a dozen phrasings this table does not list. Treat the number as an indication of order of magnitude, not a forecast of traffic.

Difficulty tells you how long, roughly. A trade in the twenties and thirties is a different job from one in the sixties. Locksmith dublin at 29 with 1,700 searches is the most favourable pairing in the table; solicitor dublin at 64 with 600 is among the least.

Cost per click tells you what a customer is worth to your competitors. This is the most useful column and the least used. Roofer dublin at $13.00 a click is roofing companies telling you, with their own money, what a roofing enquiry is worth. Barber dublin at $0.30 says the opposite. If clicks in your trade are dear, the unpaid route is worth more, because the alternative is expensive.

Three cases where difficulty is not reported

What this table cannot tell you

Whether the searches are your customers. Whether the people searching are ready to buy. What any individual business would earn from a position. And nothing at all about who currently ranks, which changes constantly and which this network does not observe, because its observation log has not been started.
